1. Sustainability is the ability to have needs accomplished today, without threatening the needs for people tomorrow. For example, when we use renewable energy sources ( i.e solar, wind, hydro power, biomass) we accomplish the need for electricity today, without jeopardizing the needs in the future.
2. Freegans are a sub-culture of anti-consumerists that eat, work and live off of mainstream societies waste. This group is growing fast due to the enormous amount of perfectly good items that are thrown out without a second glance.
3. Stewardship, as it relates to Enviormental Stewardship means being responsible for people that are not responsible. for example, if someone throws a piece of trash on the ground, an example of Enviormental Stewardship would be picking it up
4. Biomiciry means life (bio) copying (mimicry). this is taking concepts that nature has provided and turning them into useful items for humanity. For example, the airplane is a form of biomimicry, humans created a device to mimic a bird and the ability of a bird to fly.
5. An ecological footprint is a measurement of the impact that a specific thing has on the enviorment. For example, a ecological footprint could be a measurement of how many gallons of gas it takes to power your television for one hour.
6. Overshoot is the gap between how much supply there is and how much demand. Right now there is much more demand for natural recourse's than the earth can supply.

C. 1987 was the year that humankind needed more from the earth than it could supply.
D. on October 6th, 2007 was the day that our country used up all the resources it had for that year, and this was when we started trading money for resources with smaller countries.
